Updating from Firefox Version 1.5.x to Version 2.0.0.x

If you have just updated from 1.5.0.x to , here are a few tips that should make your transition easier.

How to get my close button back
Type about:config into the location bar
Find the entry for: browser.tabs.closeButtons
Right click on the entry
Select Modify
Enter/Type: the value 3 into the dialogue box.

I don't like the tabs scrolling
In about:config, change browser.tabs.tabMinWidth to 0

How to get my email icon back
Try installing the extension on this site:

If you have the Active X Plug in installed, remove the plugin. It will not work in Firefox 2 and will cause many problems.

I want my old Default Theme back

You will need to allow the new version of Firefox to be given access by your Firewall

I can't find my Profile Folder
Read this KB Article for locating your Profile:

NOTE: These files are hidden by default.
To see hidden files:
1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options
2. Click the View tab
3. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders
4. Disable "Hide File Extensions for Known Files."
5. Click OK.

To search for files in the Application Data folder, go to Start | Search.
Under More Advanced Options select Search system folders, Search
Hidden Files and folders, and Search subfolders.

Note in Firefox 2, the Themes and Extensions menu items have been combined into Addons.

Help! My toolbars look too big
The Theme you are using is not Compatible with Firefox 2.0.0.x. Use another Theme that is Compatible with 2.0.0.x.
(The theme may have been accepted at the upgrade, but may still not be suitable)

I'm a Limited user, and my update Failed!
     1. Log into Windows as an Administrator
     2. Set the Limited User permissions on the Mozilla Firefox directory in Program Files
     3. Run Mozilla Firefox as the Limited User and allow it to apply the update
