Can I import 4.79 mail filters to 7.0 PR1?

Yes. Close all NS programs. Copy rules.dat from your mail folder in NS4 to the NS7 folder that has your mail server in it - something like:

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\Profilename\Random #>.slt\Mail\mailservername

Open the rules.dat file in Notepad, and change the first line from version="6" to version="8". Save. Do this for each mail server.

Open NS7, go to Mail, select the account, and click on "Create message filters". Your filters should be there. Make sure they are enabled. Select the first one, click on "edit" and check to see that "Perform this action" has the correct folder destination.

It's RULES.DAT, but getting it to work effectively in NS7 may require some modification...

Using the same file, here's how it starts in NS7, after being migrated from 4.7x.

version="8"
logging="no"
name="HTML"
enabled="yes"
type="1"
action="Move to folder"
actionValue="mailbox://hb@pop.hevanet.com/HTML"

Here's how it looked in 4.7x...

version="6"
logging="no"
name="HTML"
enabled="yes"
description=""
type="1"
action="Move to folder"
actionValue="HTML"

...a user here has reported success, after making changes, but in the final analysis it may simpler to create a new file in NS7.
